It's all go at Prodigy HQ, and we're delighted to welcome Alex to the fold. Alex has joined the team as Lead Support Engineer, and although he's been super-busy, he found the time for a quick chat.
What did you do before joining Prodigy?
Before joining Prodigy, I served as a Technical Analyst at the UK arm of a long-standing and successful financial services group.
Sanlam UK were starting on a journey of transition to a more robust computer architecture and product offering, I was employed to implement these changes, whilst still continuously maintaining and improving the existing systems. These changes were designed to allow the company to provide a high quality level of customer service, yet also provide more resilient information systems to staff.
What made you want to work with us?
I was looking for a new challenge after working at Sanlam, the recent and ongoing COVID-19 situation also led me to question if working in a crowded office environment was really wise. I have a child whom needs to be shielded and the role at Prodigy offered me the flexibility to continue to do so and allow more time for family life. Having spent the last four years working for a single company implementing new technological systems, I felt that Prodigy offered the opportunity to work with many of these cutting edge technologies and a variety of implementations.
How has your time here been so far?
I’m very conscious I am still learning the Prodigy way of doing things, however I feel that there is a real dedication and drive towards customer service and I feel that I can add to that. The support team are very knowledgeable and always seem happy to help, I think that speaks volumes about the care that goes into the recruitment.
What’s the best thing about working here so far?
I can’t name just one specific thing, there is a real drive for improvement even when looking at the smallest details in addition the team are very friendly and supportive. I am looking forward to attending one of the social events in the near future.
What do you like doing in your free time?
During my free time, I mainly spend time with my family or I work on one of my many personal projects, these are usually technological or mechanical in nature. I also enjoy playing football, walks in the countryside and river kayaking.
Any final thoughts?
I am excited to bring my experience and ideas to Prodigy and equally I’m also excited about the innovations Prodigy have made and what I can learn from those. I hope we can bring these all together to help drive the business forward and improve the services that Prodigy can provide.
